Welcome to ViewMeLive, your reliable partner for Progressive Safe System (PSS) solutions in London. Our expert team helps fleets stay compliant with the latest Direct Vision Standard (DVS) regulations while improving safety for drivers and vulnerable road users.
Whether you operate a single Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) or manage a large fleet, we make the process of becoming DVS 2024 compliant simple, fast, and hassle-free.
The Direct Vision Standard (DVS) is a Transport for London (TfL) initiative that requires all HGVs over 12 tonnes to have a safety permit to operate in Greater London. The standard is designed to improve driver visibility and reduce risks to pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.
Pictorial Warning Signage
Large pictorial blind spot warning stickers mounted at the rear of the vehicle or trailer.
Blind Spot Information System (BSIS)
Active nearside safety system providing audible and visual warnings to drivers of VRU’s on the nearside of the vehicle and of imminent collisions.
Left Turn Warning Speaker
A warning speaker automatically activated with the left indicator to alert VRU’s to a left turn manoeuvre.
Nearside Camera System
Camera and in-cab display screen system that completely eliminates nearside blind spots.
Moving Off Information System (MOIS)
Active forward safety system providing audible and visual warnings to drivers of VRU’s in front of the vehicle and of imminent collisions.
The PSS is an advanced upgrade to the existing DVS Safe System, designed to eliminate blind spots and enhance driver awareness. It integrates cutting-edge safety technologies, including:
Detects cyclists and pedestrians in nearside blind spots, differentiating between stationary and moving objects.
Alerts drivers to vulnerable road users in front blind spots when the vehicle starts moving.
Predicts potential collisions based on movement trajectories and alerts the driver with varying warning levels.
Use TfL’s online tool to check your vehicle’s DVS star rating. If it’s 3 stars or above, you can apply for your permit directly. If it’s below 3 stars, you’ll need a PSS installed.
Our specialists will assess your vehicle and recommend the right safety equipment. We handle the entire installation process with minimal disruption to your operations.
After installation, we’ll provide the necessary certification and photographic evidence so you can apply for your DVS permit quickly and easily.
Direct Vision Standard 2024 – New BSIS and MOIS Requirements
As part of the 2024 update to the Direct Vision Standard, it is now mandatory for vehicles to be fitted with BSIS and MOIS systems.
The Blind Spot Information System (BSIS) operates at speeds below 30 km/h (18 mph), alerting the driver to the presence of pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, and other objects through both visual and audible warnings.
The Moving Off Information System (MOIS) functions at speeds between 0–5 km/h (0–3 mph), providing visual and audible alerts if a vulnerable road user is detected directly in front of the vehicle.
At ViewMeLive, our Progressive Safe System solutions in London do more than just meet legal requirements they add real value to your fleet operations.
Our PSS provides complete coverage of blind spots, with advanced alerts for potential hazards on the nearside and front of the vehicle. This helps protect vulnerable road users such as pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists, greatly reducing the risk of accidents.
The system uses state-of-the-art technology, including Blind Spot Information Systems (BSIS) and Moving Off Information Systems (MOIS). These smart detection systems distinguish between stationary and moving objects, providing accurate alerts only when there’s a genuine risk — giving drivers the information they need to act quickly and safely.
From 28th October 2024, all HGVs over 12 tonnes must have a PSS installed to operate legally within Greater London. Installing the system now ensures you meet DVS 2024 regulations, avoiding costly fines and operational delays.
By improving driver awareness and reducing the chance of collisions, the PSS helps keep your vehicles on the road with minimal downtime. Fewer incidents also mean potential savings on insurance costs and a smoother, more reliable fleet operation.
